Excitement Overload …

Oh My Goodness me … so much excitement in one day I am almost tongue tied!

Now whilst I don’t like the development on Dog’s stubble field – they had a big crane today and I love big cranes and get ridiculously excited …

A visit to a heritage building that has been repurposed as a backpacker hostel (thank you Sarah for organising that and thank you to Neil for the tour and thank you to Graeme for joining the tour) … it was really exhilarating to see. Followed by a coffee and further chat (thank you again Sarah).

A quick peep to see Tayside House entering the last stage of it’s demolition by hat has been branded locally as the “Muncher”

This was just before the meeting I was attending …

… two hours later – I was a little disappointed with progress!

Seriously big chunks of concrete falling!

As if all of that was not enough – Weather Guru – I have missed daily chats with him!  Enough time for some quick updates either way and he is going to find something out for me about the building I am interested in for the hostel … it is not what you know but who you know!!  An hour was not long enough – there are all sorts of things I keep thinking “oh I should have said …”  Never mind it was really lovely to catch up a little at least.

Tomorrow offers more excitement – I have a meeting with the Council Marketing team about “Taking the Bus for a Walk” … I had hoped to get a copy printed out today but didn’t manage it – hopefully tomorrow before my training course.

Now I know it is the wrong attitude but the training course I am not looking forward to – how to write my CV!  (1) my CV is professionally written using a very well respected job search site and (2) I virtually never submit my CV since the jobs I am applying for are mainly application form based.  I am also put off that the company running the training couldn’t be bothered to get my name right and then range me yesterday to remind me that I am supposed to attend – I hate being reminded as if I am a useless child!

The on Thursday or Friday we are meeting up with Pup’s wee brother Ollie (fingers crossed) and on Friday I am risk assessing walk routes for “Steps for Health” … all go!

About nonehpets

I have an interest in how interior design and adapting a home to support living independently for longer can be complementary. The blog Life Long Design is part of an holistic plan for establishing a social enterprise which will offer the people of Tayside opportunities to explore Telecare and the wider scope of assistive technologies. Enabling individuals to make more informed and responsible choices in the care and support they need in their independent living. I am also keen to see public transport more widely adopted and sustainable rural bus services in particular supported. The Blog Travels with a Megarider shares my journey to find serenity in my life as I make that transition form employment to social entrepreneur. One of my methods in increasing serenity is to travel as many miles as I can on a fixed price bus ticket and explore my own local places of interest. Places that I used to go past and had never stopped to look at; places of peace and tranquility; places where I have had some wonderful conversations with complete strangers. I would like to share with you a response to when I described that one paragraph in an e-mail made it sound simple: "Believe me, Cathy, it does not sound simple. You are taking on an incredible challenge for all the right reasons. It is ambitious and admirable - the sort of project that can change lives, including yours." He is right it is ambitious but when did we every achieve anything by settling for the status quo and ignoring what doesn't work for people? So I would welcome your company from time to time on this journey either simply as a reader or if you are brave enough adding your own thoughts to the comments as you feel moved.
