Hot Dogs

IMG_2059

I managed one pathetic picture today! I forgot the camera and it was so bright that getting anything remotely realistic in colour was a challenge on my phone!  Anyway in the picture is a tiny wild viola and some tiny blue speedwells.  Obviously all these little flowers are producing enough to attract the flying insects since we have been seeing Bumble bees for over a week now (it is only a matter of time before Pup bites one and gets stung!) and today I was watching butterflies chasing one another.  I cannot be sure which ones looking at a butterfly guide so I will be having to go back to try getting pictures … first birds and now butterflies – I am turning into a naturalist!

Why so few photos? well I was waiting for the dog food delivery that didn’t get here Saturday and to be honest it was too hot to take the boys for exercise until second half of the afternoon.  Dog was so hot he was panting just sitting still.  When the dog food delivery came (complete with biscuits from the nice courier lady for the boys) we set off for a gentle stroll.

Dog inadvertently found somewhere to get wet – he jumped in for a drink not realising the water was the same depth as his shoulder – so no need to swim but he got wet and was happy to go in for a second turn.  Pup, not to be left out took his turns.  On the way back they had several more goes each – they would have loved been at the beach and able to go in the sea!  I have  a busy couple of days lined up but maybe at the end of the week I will be brave and take the squeaky one on the bus so we can have fun together at the seaside!

The roadworks meantime have been downgraded with the removal of most of the barriers and the top fill and seal on the holes – now we just have the barriers dumped outside everyone’s houses and the lights still in place for another night!

Another job application completed today and two more to do and my Job Advisor interview tomorrow!  Meeting about the Steps for Health walking group on Thursday … where does the time go?

About nonehpets

I have an interest in how interior design and adapting a home to support living independently for longer can be complementary. The blog Life Long Design is part of an holistic plan for establishing a social enterprise which will offer the people of Tayside opportunities to explore Telecare and the wider scope of assistive technologies. Enabling individuals to make more informed and responsible choices in the care and support they need in their independent living. I am also keen to see public transport more widely adopted and sustainable rural bus services in particular supported. The Blog Travels with a Megarider shares my journey to find serenity in my life as I make that transition form employment to social entrepreneur. One of my methods in increasing serenity is to travel as many miles as I can on a fixed price bus ticket and explore my own local places of interest. Places that I used to go past and had never stopped to look at; places of peace and tranquility; places where I have had some wonderful conversations with complete strangers. I would like to share with you a response to when I described that one paragraph in an e-mail made it sound simple: "Believe me, Cathy, it does not sound simple. You are taking on an incredible challenge for all the right reasons. It is ambitious and admirable - the sort of project that can change lives, including yours." He is right it is ambitious but when did we every achieve anything by settling for the status quo and ignoring what doesn't work for people? So I would welcome your company from time to time on this journey either simply as a reader or if you are brave enough adding your own thoughts to the comments as you feel moved.
