Tee Shirt Weather … at last!

Just look at that sky – that is not an edited picture that is the true colour as is the red of the stonework.  This is the Old Parish steeple in the centre of Kirrie.  I had an appointment this morning with the local volunteering organisation.  It was an excellent discussion and we were able to help each other with some joined up thinking.  I am interested in volunteering that doesn’t commit me to a group activity that I would have to give up once I am back in work.  We considered a number of ways that my IT skills, my creativity and walking could be options to benefit others in our community.

After that I popped into the library to use  a computer and the photocopier to get the evidence documents for the Ombudsman; not  a cheap option but I shall be looking to get that back from the bank since they are the ones that have caused me to need to do it.  I had never used the facilities there and in fact my Library Membership had been cancelled because it was so long since I had used it.  I had to get reinstated first!  Anyway it was a lovely positive experience and I shall be back again, not least because there is something I want to show Evelyn on Google Maps Streetview.

I walked home, after buying some milk, enjoying the warm sun on my face.  I had got a bit dressed up for the outing so when I got home I had to get into dog walking scruffs (I had to search out  a belt for my jeans – they don’t stay up any more otherwise!).  Just as we set off our neighbour was out doing some moss removal off the roof.  He has tiles which grow moss on them whereas our slates don’t.  We enjoyed a chat about a few things and then the boys and I set off for a mooch.

I had only a thin tee shirt fabric top on and I pulled my sleeves up – it was just so lovely to be warm again outdoors.  Eventually though I had to give in and come back indoors and do my job hunting and applications.  Fingers crossed the sun wins this time and the snow stays away.

About nonehpets

I have an interest in how interior design and adapting a home to support living independently for longer can be complementary. The blog Life Long Design is part of an holistic plan for establishing a social enterprise which will offer the people of Tayside opportunities to explore Telecare and the wider scope of assistive technologies. Enabling individuals to make more informed and responsible choices in the care and support they need in their independent living. I am also keen to see public transport more widely adopted and sustainable rural bus services in particular supported. The Blog Travels with a Megarider shares my journey to find serenity in my life as I make that transition form employment to social entrepreneur. One of my methods in increasing serenity is to travel as many miles as I can on a fixed price bus ticket and explore my own local places of interest. Places that I used to go past and had never stopped to look at; places of peace and tranquility; places where I have had some wonderful conversations with complete strangers. I would like to share with you a response to when I described that one paragraph in an e-mail made it sound simple: "Believe me, Cathy, it does not sound simple. You are taking on an incredible challenge for all the right reasons. It is ambitious and admirable - the sort of project that can change lives, including yours." He is right it is ambitious but when did we every achieve anything by settling for the status quo and ignoring what doesn't work for people? So I would welcome your company from time to time on this journey either simply as a reader or if you are brave enough adding your own thoughts to the comments as you feel moved.
