Ah Food has Flavour Again!

So what sense have I made of yesterday’s muddles?

  1. Well the phone call I was waiting for about Monday’s interview finally arrived at lunchtime today – I was not surprised that I had not got a place on the course.
  2. My mobile problems? I decided that I should go ahead with my upgrade and my phone provider had no concerns about me being out of work – so my iPhone5 will arrive – fingers crossed  tomorrow afternoon.  I say fingers crossed since the last time I ordered a new phone the delivery went completely to pot – the whole thing became very stressful and I told them where to put the phone – it was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.  So far the customer service has been excellent and the delivery scheduled for much earlier than I was initially advised.  Since my current phone was virtually unusable yesterday (although since I told someone that it has behaved impeccably!!) I appreciate not having to struggle on and lose the benefit of the contract I have.
  3. The Job Centre Goal Posts – well I just have to get on and deal with it through gritted teeth – jobsworths! but I will be adding this to the letter I have in draft for my MSP.
  4. Community Council changes – well I have got on with whatever practical tasks I can do to make the change over smoother.

Today presented a new muddle which I cannot say too much specific about since it will be the subject of an appeal – it involves Evelyn who has been declined a move to sheltered accommodation which she really wants.  The reason for the appeal is the grounds for refusing are totally irrelevant and based on something that she has never claimed to struggle with and the fact that Council staff made observations of her without her knowledge.  She has agreed that I will draft an appeal letter for her signature and that I can advocate for her at all discussions.

I took Pup when I visited Evelyn and he was really good – he struggled with her waving hands trying to fend him off her sore legs – the waving hands actually drew his attention more!  Anyway having wombled a juice bottle from behind her chair he soon settled down and lay stretched out for a sleep.

The best news today is that I have an appetite back and food actually tastes okay for the first time in 10 days – thank goodness.

About nonehpets

I have an interest in how interior design and adapting a home to support living independently for longer can be complementary. The blog Life Long Design is part of an holistic plan for establishing a social enterprise which will offer the people of Tayside opportunities to explore Telecare and the wider scope of assistive technologies. Enabling individuals to make more informed and responsible choices in the care and support they need in their independent living. I am also keen to see public transport more widely adopted and sustainable rural bus services in particular supported. The Blog Travels with a Megarider shares my journey to find serenity in my life as I make that transition form employment to social entrepreneur. One of my methods in increasing serenity is to travel as many miles as I can on a fixed price bus ticket and explore my own local places of interest. Places that I used to go past and had never stopped to look at; places of peace and tranquility; places where I have had some wonderful conversations with complete strangers. I would like to share with you a response to when I described that one paragraph in an e-mail made it sound simple: "Believe me, Cathy, it does not sound simple. You are taking on an incredible challenge for all the right reasons. It is ambitious and admirable - the sort of project that can change lives, including yours." He is right it is ambitious but when did we every achieve anything by settling for the status quo and ignoring what doesn't work for people? So I would welcome your company from time to time on this journey either simply as a reader or if you are brave enough adding your own thoughts to the comments as you feel moved.
