Trying to Be Helpful …

Trying being the operative word today!

Everything started off well … Pup managed to hold on until we got outside this morning and Dog managed not to run round like an idiot.  It was mild and dry and there was a beautiful orange sunrise … my camera was at home – so no pictures of that!

I decided after breakfast to make a tutorial to go on deviantArt for the monochrome conversion using GIMP.  I have been working on it all day apart form when I was doing dog chores or making myself food.  I was almost ready to post it on the site and tell you about it and give you the link to see my beautiful helpful piece of work … and GIMP crashed!  I think I will have lost one text box because I was just saving it when it crashed … I have decided it is better to leave it now until the morning.  I have really enjoyed making it apart from the frustration of a slower than slow computer!

I did manage to pop over to MyDeco to round off my 12 Days of Christmas series of rooms with an explanation of how it started and an estimate of the cost in today’s terms of those gifts – around $25.5k without including a fine for eating the royal swans!  I also managed, whilst waiting for GIMP, to add a few Pins at Pinterest – mainly things relating to yesterday’s epiphany and which may or may not in due course be gifted to the idiot involved!

I did not manage to edit the photos I was going to share about Kirriemuir – so you still have those to look forward to but I did take a few pictures today.  The sparrow pictures were taken through the kitchen window – so the quality is not great but I wouldn’t have got anywhere near this close otherwise.  Then there is a dove silhouetted in a tree and a crow silhouetted in a pollarded tree with beautifully structured branches and then there is a series of Dog and Pup being silly boys on the sofa!

Very silly boys indeed – but at least they are my silly boys!  Pup yesterday nabbed a skein of glittery mauve embroidery floss  he returned it to me, looking a little disgruntled, and it is no still glittery but a pale grey knot of embroidery floss!  Puppy presents are the best.

So tomorrow I will try to finish my helpful off – but before that I get my JSA and I have some messages to run.

About nonehpets

I have an interest in how interior design and adapting a home to support living independently for longer can be complementary. The blog Life Long Design is part of an holistic plan for establishing a social enterprise which will offer the people of Tayside opportunities to explore Telecare and the wider scope of assistive technologies. Enabling individuals to make more informed and responsible choices in the care and support they need in their independent living. I am also keen to see public transport more widely adopted and sustainable rural bus services in particular supported. The Blog Travels with a Megarider shares my journey to find serenity in my life as I make that transition form employment to social entrepreneur. One of my methods in increasing serenity is to travel as many miles as I can on a fixed price bus ticket and explore my own local places of interest. Places that I used to go past and had never stopped to look at; places of peace and tranquility; places where I have had some wonderful conversations with complete strangers. I would like to share with you a response to when I described that one paragraph in an e-mail made it sound simple: "Believe me, Cathy, it does not sound simple. You are taking on an incredible challenge for all the right reasons. It is ambitious and admirable - the sort of project that can change lives, including yours." He is right it is ambitious but when did we every achieve anything by settling for the status quo and ignoring what doesn't work for people? So I would welcome your company from time to time on this journey either simply as a reader or if you are brave enough adding your own thoughts to the comments as you feel moved.
